Brainstorming..

So I have been trying hard to get this whole right brain, left brain thing sorted out. One is the side I do all my tech support stuff on, and the other is my creative side, and boy they do NOT like to talk to each other.

Anyway, I finally got the neurons firing on the creative side on the weekend and had some new ideas:

1. Sci-fi short story / novel concept
2. Couple children's book ideas
3. A couple ideas on policy items to blog about

So I am taking notes.

Also I discovered that with my wife taking an online course, and logging into work on our home PC, and my work being strict about not putting personal stuff on the laptop they issue, it looks like I will need to buy a new laptop. So, I'm ordering one today --- a new writing platform! Whoo hoo.

A little journalism to sharper the pen..

Ok, so today I signed up for a call with http://www.associatedcontent.com/. 400 words on local politics. We'll see if they like my copy. Wow! I'm so nervous. I haven't had to write for a real journalistic type deadline in years.

Ok let's get started

For those of you that know me, you probably are aware that I have recently made a bit of a career change. I decided to step down my hours with my employer from full time down to a part time position so that I can free up some time to write.

So that is mainly the subject of this blog. I hope to document my challenges and accomplishments as I embark on this new endeavor.
